Hourly range: $24.00-$26.00

Summary:

Marketing Specialist I at Forney Industries is the first of three levels of professional marketing with a diverse set of marketing activities. Duties include but are not limited to writing, research, graphic design, product photography, brand advocate program coordination, advertising materials development, content development, organization of products exhibited at trade fairs and conventions, proposal development and preparation of reports to assist with decision making. 

Must be equally adept at writing, editing and proofreading product catalogs, web content, POP (brochures, flyers, pamphlets), advertising (print ads) and marketing materials (digital marketing, email copy, social posts, social media calendar maintenance and planning, blogs) and minor website updates. Additionally, crafting articles and press releases. Receives project direction from senior staff and management and may spend most of the time working on assigned segments of a project. This role is distinguished from direct sales and marketing research jobs but may include elements of each. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research, write and edit  engaging content for video scripts, advertisements, articles, blogs and additional marketing materials.
• Strategize with other members of the Marketing team on innovative ways to reach the target audience, deliver messaging and discover new opportunities to deliver the core marketing message.
• Proofread copy for spelling/grammar and correct brand usage.
• Graphic design with guidance from the marketing team; applying learning. 
• Product photography and photo library maintenance
• Assist with the coordination of the Forney Brand Advocate program
• Assist in eCommerce support, maintaining content consistency and content development. 
• Maintain knowledge of current advertising trends/best practices in both print and digital formats.
• Collaborate with the New Product and Business Development department to ensure content is accurate and reflects marketing message.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of the company’s products, services, and policies.
• Be a positive contributor to the achievement of assigned departmental targets/goal.
• Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of SEO, Google AdWords and corporate website
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

Preferred bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, English, or Broadcast Media. Related work experience with content editorial/production a plus. Minimum 1-3 years of experience

Language Skills:

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Read, analyze, and interpret common technical information. Respond to common inquiries from customers, field sales, and other departments. Proofread and accurately edit written materials. 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. 

Other Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Conversant with report writing, business procedures and correspondence.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Research and analysis reports.
• Ability to organize self and others; deadline discipline is required. 
• Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud products. 
• Able to work effectively with multi-functional teams and executive staff.
• Take ownership and see work projects through to completion.
• Ability  to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
• Proofing/editing skills.
• Create and develop social media content, support social media calendar.
• Respond to social media comments and inquiries. 
• Support photography, videography and editing of photos. 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a traditional office and/or studio setting with occasional need to perform duties in a manufacturing/packaging/production environment.
