Job Summary
Administrative Interns are placed in strategic areas that have been identified as having potential gaps in their supervisory or management structure. Interns will be responsible for completing varied tasks specific to the assignment in order to gain knowledge and practical experience that will serve as the basis for growth and professional development and may include participation in a management training program. Responsibilities will be outlined according to the position they will be working under for the specified time period. An Administrative Intern is also expected to attend hospital committee meetings as assigned.

Education/Skills
Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Hospital and/or Health Administration, Public Health, or related field.
Work Experience
Must continuously listen and visualize. Must have strong analytical and reasoning abilities. Must be able to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, set priorities, and function under stress. Must be able to multi-task. Above average written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must be service minded and customer focused.

Key Responsibilities May Include The Following
- Assists with the development and implementation of business growth plans.
- Directs system performance improvement studies and presents recommendations.
- Completes special projects as delegated by various administrators.
- Enhances professional expertise by attending professional seminars and workshops.
- Helps to develop customer service initiatives (analysis of customer satisfaction data or market research, development of appropriate programs, develops action plans, manages initiatives).
- Performs additional duties as required.
Education/Skills
Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Hospital and/or Health Administration, Public Health, or related field.
Work Experience
- Communication and interpersonal skills for frequent contacts with internal customers, including medical and management personnel, as well as stakeholders external to the Forrest Health to persuade or negotiate on a wide range of subjects in situations which may be controversial and/or sensitive. A mastery of a variety of communication modalities is required to include leading meetings, making formal presentations and writing complex documents.
- High level of analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to research market conditions, develop assessment methods, assemble complex and varied information and apply innovative approaches to developing and implementing strategic plans and programs.
- Project management skills including the ability to define program, project, or process objectives, identify stakeholders and their interests, plan steps, coordinate and allocate human, technological and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner.
