Job Summary:
- Fulfills professional responsibility in dispensing, procurement, control, and consultation involved with medication .
- Displays strong leadership skills and great customer service skills .
- Knowledgeable and capable of performing any pharmaceutical duty in the hospital pharmacy department and throughout the hospital .
- The Pharmacist must utilize a growth and development knowledge base in medication for children (pediatric), adolescent, and geriatric patients.
- Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
- Responsible for the daily workflow and efficiency of the pharmacy.
- Works to improve processes, financial and business related issues within the pharmacy.
- Supervises and directs support personnel, including pharmacy students and pharmacy technician students.
- Responsible for inventory management in outpatient pharmacy.
- Included within this role assignment is the responsibility to be a positive role model for all peers always reflecting the WE CARE philosophy.
- Will serve and assist as team leader during any Mass Disaster.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
- Will be designated as PIC (pharmacist in charge) per MS State Board of Pharmacy regulations if needed.
Performance Expectations:
Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and preceptor phases of your orientation to your job.
- Demonstrates basic understanding of the 340b program.
- Demonstrates knowledge and competency in treatment of stroke patients using Alteplase.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills and interaction with staff.
- Demonstrates ability to supervise and direct support personnel - technicians, cashiers and couriers.
- Demonstrates initiative to keep all pharmacy areas neat, clean and uncluttered at all times.
- Demonstrates ability to improve efficiency and processes of the pharmacy.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrates initiative to maintain/meet licensure and certification requirements.
- Demonstrates ability to complete and fulfill duties of a pharmacist.
- Demonstrates understanding of Pioneer RX software.
- Demonstrates understanding of USP 800 compliance.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required.
Must have 2 hours of stroke education annually.
Work Experience:
Retail experience preferred but not required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Registration with the Mississippi State Board of Pharmacy.
