What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN-MDS Coordinator position at Forrest Health?
The RN- MDS shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as evidenced by documentation in Patient Care Record, completion of Minimum Data Sets and care plans in a timely and accurate manner. RN- MDS is responsible for patient care, maintenance of schedules for completing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) within allowed time limits in accordance with current Federal, State and Local regulations, and submission to payor sources within allotted timeframes. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Active member of the SNU Unit’s QAPI and Infection Control and Team committees. The MDS Coordinator performs under the direct supervision of the Administrator of the Skilled Nursing Unit and is delegated an assignment by the Administrator to achieve quality patient care. - Demonstrates the aptitude and knowledge regarding the MDS and any new regulations from CMS.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience:
One year medical/surgical nursing care required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS

- Basic Life Support
