What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN position at Forrest Health?
The RN works to achieve quality patient care. The RN shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as evidenced by documentation in the Patient Care Record, direct observation, and patient evaluations of care. The RN is responsible for patient care and is ultimately accountable to the Medical Nursing Director. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. May also provide patient care in the Emergency Room and Endoscopy as needed.
Performance Expectations:
- Properly uses and operates equipment assigned, including but not limited to: telemetry monitors, woundvacs, IV infusion pumps, accucheck and defibrillators.
- Completes a thorough physical assessment of patients.
- Skilled in the use of central line care, IV insertion/care and blood transfusions.
- Consistently respects and maintains patient confidentiality.
- Ensure appropriate communication and interaction with patients/families and visitors.
- I must tolerate physically demanding tasks of moving equipment and patients utilizing safety measures for both yourself and/or the patient.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Embraces and practices "We Care" philosophy in all aspects of patient, visitor, co-worker and non-employee care.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program is required.
Work Experience:
One year medical/surgical nursing experience preferred but not required - (applies to new nursing
Graduates)
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
