Position Overview:
QA/Production Manager - Oversee the entire production process for aluminum fence and gate manufacturing at Patriot Aluminum LLC. This position is critical for ensuring efficient production, timely delivery, cost control, and maintenance of the expected quality standards. The QA/Production Manager will lead and motivate production teams while addressing any operational issues and is expected to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the aluminum fence and gate manufacturing process.
- Ensure production runs on time, within budget, and meets the quality standards set by the company.
- Develop and implement production schedules to maximize efficiency and meet customer deadlines.
- Team Leadership and Motivation:
- Lead, motivate, and manage production teams to achieve goals and maintain high productivity levels.
- Address and resolve staffing challenges to ensure smooth operations.
- Foster a positive work environment where employees feel supported and engaged.
- Operational Management:
- Monitor and assess production metrics and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Address operational issues such as delays and quality control concerns quickly and effectively.
- Serve as the point of contact for management and other departments regarding production and warehouse concerns.
- Cost and Resource Management:
- Track and manage production costs, ensuring that operations remain within budget.
- Generating and Furnishing weekly Production Reports (orders taken in, next week’s production load/capability)
- Ensure the efficient use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Address any hazards promptly to maintain workplace safety.
- Maintenance and Equipment Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment and tools.
- Ensure that all equipment is functioning correctly to prevent production delays and minimize downtime.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Generate weekly production reports, including the status of orders, production metrics, and forecasts for upcoming production loads.
- Maintain communication with management regarding operational performance, production challenges, and team progress.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience (5 years) in a fast-paced production or warehouse supervisory role, preferably in manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a diverse team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Familiar with production tracking software (Custom Books is a plus but not required).
- Forklift certification and/or experience with other warehouse equipment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, scheduling, and cost management.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for long hours.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, equipment noise levels, and physical demands.
