Investment Accountant

Position Summary

The primary function of this position is the preparation of financial statements for the separate accounts of an insurance company. The position also includes other invested asset and annuity tax withholding duties.

Expectations

• Prepare the NAIC Annual Statement, the annual audit report drafts and related schedules for the separate account of an insurance company.
• Record all investment activity for insurance administration company.
• Record all investment activity for two small P&C insurance companies.
• Record policy loan activity for an insurance company.
• Prepare general ledger entries.
• Reconcile general ledger and bank accounts as needed.
• Report and pay both federal and state annuity tax withholding.
• Provide information to auditors as needed.
• Assist with various financial reporting projects as needed.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

• Experience using investment software preferred
  
  

Requisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with an insurance or financial services company preferred but not required
• Knowledge of insurance investment schedules is a plus.
