Job Responsibilities:
Prepare planning and design documents for floodplain development projects
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses of moderate complexity
Develop new H&H models using available data and sound engineering judgment
Modify existing H&H models to support project goals
Plan and design flood control facilities, including basins, channels, and diversions
Prepare local floodplain development permits and supporting documentation
Prepare FEMA permit applications (CLOMR, LOMR) and documentation
Provide technical assistance to local floodplain administrators
Qualifications:
Before you apply, make sure you have:
BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering
3–5 years of relevant full-time experience
Experience in surface-water hydrology and open-channel hydraulics
Proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ArcGIS
Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines (structural, geotechnical, survey, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
