An Egg Merchandiser is responsible for the procurement, sales, and distribution of eggs within the food industry. Responsibilities

Market Analysis and Strategy

• Monitor market trends, egg prices, and production cycles to develop strategies for buying and selling eggs.
• Stay informed about industry news, consumer demand, and competitors to make informed decisions.
• Identify opportunities to expand market share and maximize profitability.

Procurement and Sales

• Establish and maintain relationships with egg producers, suppliers, and distributors to ensure a consistent supply of eggs.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Sell eggs to retail customers, foodservice businesses, wholesalers, and processors.
• Implement pricing strategies that reflect market conditions and ensure competitiveness.

Inventory Management

• Oversee inventory levels of eggs, ensuring timely replenishment and the prevention of stockouts or excess inventory.
• Work closely with logistics teams to manage product deliveries and ensure timely transportation.
• Monitor egg quality during storage and transportation, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Customer Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction.
• Address customer inquiries, issues, or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Provide product knowledge and recommendations to customers to help grow sales and strengthen relationships.

Quality Control

• Ensure eggs meet quality standards for freshness, appearance, and packaging.
• Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with industry regulations, including food safety, labeling, and hygiene standards.
• Address quality concerns promptly and work with suppliers to resolve issues.

Logistics and Coordination

• Coordinate the transportation of eggs from producers to storage or retail locations.
• Manage relationships with transport companies to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
• Work with the operations team to optimize packaging, handling, and distribution processes.

Financial and Reporting

• Monitor the financial performance of egg sales, including profitability, margins, and cost control.
• Prepare and present regular reports on sales, inventory, and market trends to management.
• Manage and track expenses, ensuring that the procurement and sales processes stay within budget.

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all sales, contracts, and shipments in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Agricultural Economics, Food Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in merchandising, sales, or a related field within the food industry (preferably in eggs or perishable goods).
• Strong understanding of egg production, supply chains, and market dynamics.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations related to egg handling.
• Experience working with inventory management systems and sales software.
• Previous experience in customer service or account management.

Physical Requirements
