What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Pastry Chef position at Forsyth Country Club?
Position Summary:
Creates delectable and creative menu items in our Forsyth Grill Restaurant, Banquet Operations, and various on property venues under the direction of our Executive Pastry Chef and Culinary Team Leaders. This position will be immersed and learn a vast amount from our very talented Pastry Chef. Must have the flexibility to work Sunday shifts when needed. Flexibility to work varying stations, and have a passionate drive to learn something new every day. Looking for a candidate who has the drive to become a tenured employee here at Forsyth Country Club and a future in the Pastry Arts.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepares delectable pastries, cakes, ice creams, and desserts as instructed by our Executive Pastry Chef
- Executes production misenplace per station requirements and be set up for food service operations
- Prepares items that are ordered in accordance with established portioning methods and presentations
- Notifies the Executive Pastry Chef and Executive Chef of product needs and quality concerns
- Ensures all production areas and equipment are clean and sanitary before, during, and after service
- Assists the chefs in maintaining security and safety standards throughout our operation
- Maintains a 5-Star Professional Chef appearance and hygiene standard before arriving
- Sets-up, maintains and breaks down prep area station
- Assists the Chefs in requisitioning ingredients needed for production
- Adheres to current state, local, and company health regulations (ServSafe is a plus)
- Covers, dates, rotates, organizes, and neatly stores all misenplace throughout the kitchen
- Maintains the highest sanitary standards during production times and addresses concerns
- Communicates efficiently and works as a team with the other cooks and culinary managers
- Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of all equipment
- Plans, prepares and decorates special pastry items as necessary for events and the restaurant
- Assists with other duties as assigned by the Culinary Team Managers and Supervisors
- Assists the Executive Pastry Chef in monitoring hot and cold food holding temperatures
- Assists the Pastry Chef in buffet dessert table setups, presentations, and refilling of the display
