Description
JOB GOAL:
To develop skills beyond the fundamentals and combine the abilities of individuals into a team effort with the focus on enthusiastic competition in the spirit of fair play, good sportsmanship and friendship.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- See that all members of a team have returned a properly completed insurance and physical examination form BEFORE the first practice.
- Prepare and submit a roster to the Athletic Department office. Contact the A.D. office with any changes to your roster throughout the season.
- Keep parents abreast of your program.
- Teach sports techniques, playing rules, strategies, and playing tactics.
- Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility.
- Supervise and conduct practices and contests safely: supervise locker rooms and buses.
- Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one’s team.
- Following a contest, report results to athletic website and newspaper within 3 hours.
- Monitor athletes’ school attendance, grades and personal conduct.
- Issue, collect, inventory and return uniforms within one week to the Assistant Athletic Director at the conclusion of the season.
- Comply with the rules and regulations of Forsyth Country Day School and the NCISAA.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Regularly required to walk, including across uneven ground, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
- Must be able to operate a computer and have basic knowledge of Google Workspace
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
- Must be able to utilize oral and written communication skills effectively
