RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possesses a strong background in teaching mathematics
- Employs a variety of teaching methods including individual and small group instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, attitudes, and backgrounds.
- Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.
- Provides tutorials as necessary for students in need of extra academic support.
- Advises a homeroom section
- Communicates regularly with parents of students including conducting conferences.
- Identifies pupil needs, and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Participates in the divisional, team, and all faculty meetings.
- Maintains a positive attitude and conducts oneself professionally with respect to students, faculty, parents, and the community.
- Vigorously pursues knowledge of the areas and level taught.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

PREFERENCES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Math education or related field
- 3 or more years of teaching experience, preferably in grades 6-8
- Teaching license in K-8 Math or Middle School Math preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Regularly required to walk, including across uneven ground, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
- Must be able to operate a computer and have basic knowledge of Google Workspace
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
- Must be able to utilize oral and written communication skills effectively
