Primary Responsibilities
- Demonstrates solid knowledge and understanding of the content area.
- Utilizes a range of data sources to drive instruction, plan for support, and set goals for students.
- Employs a variety of teaching methods including individual and small group instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, attitudes, and backgrounds.
- Creates and executes daily lesson plans that align with the department's framework and support students toward all levels of academic achievement.
- Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.
- Provides tutorials as necessary for students in need of extra academic support.
- Serves as an Upper School advisor.
- Builds strong partnerships with families and communicates regularly about student learning and classroom events, including conducting conferences.
- Identifies students' needs, and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping support students' health, behavioral, and learning needs.
- Participates in all divisional, team, department, and faculty meetings.
- Maintains a positive attitude and conducts oneself professionally with respect to students, faculty, parents, and the community.
- Vigorously pursues knowledge of the areas and level taught.

- 3 or more years of classroom teaching experience, or related experience, preferred
- Teaching license preferred
- Regularly required to walk, including across uneven ground, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to sit and stand throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.
- Must be able to operate a computer and have basic knowledge of Google Workspace
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed
- Must be able to utilize oral and written communication skills effectively
