The RTCC Supervisor will provide highly responsible and complex administrative oversight and support to the assigned personnel. In addition, the RTCC Supervisor will adhere to, interpret, and apply Sheriffs Office general orders, directives, and best practices, as well as pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations. In addition, the RTCC Supervisor will compile and disseminate intelligence data relevant to current events, incidents (current and historical), crime, crime patterns, and crime trends.
Minimum Requirements
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Primary responsibilities will include coordination of training, scheduling, task delegation, and other administrative functions. First line supervisory functions including ensuring staff follow agency policy/ procedures and federal and state laws. Coordinate efforts of supervised shift with directives from the Bureau / Division Commander. Monitor team workload and act as a point of contact for requests within the Sheriffs Office. Collect productivity statistics on a weekly basis and produce weekly reports for the Bureau / Division Commander.
Manages the collection of criminal intelligence data for entry into information storage and retrieval systems. Monitor RTCC software suite for automatically generated alerts and respond if needed. Monitor radio traffic and offer assistance as issues arise. Complete incident reports and after-action reports as needed. Familiarity with the layout of video surveillance grids and be aware of the threats and challenges each precinct faces.
Understand emergency procedures and evacuation procedures for multiple public venues. Identify suspicious criminal activity and assist in effective response.
Operate and monitor internal and external surveillance cameras and state of the art surveillance program. Ensure all components of the Real Time Crime Center surveillance equipment are operating according to expected standards and protocols and report issues as needed. Effectively maneuver multiple surveillance cameras to obtain a better understanding of a situation, document events, and assist with investigation regarding suspicious activity, property damage, acts of violence, etc.
Work closely with sworn law enforcement. Maintain the confidentiality of policy and procedure documentation, emergency response and notification information, administrative material and database information. May act as a training lead for new Analysts when a new employee is assigned to the center. Perform basic Analyst functions as the need arises.
Inputs, accesses, and queries data in various county, state and federal computer systems, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Record Management Systems (RMS), Georgia and National Crime Information Center databases (GCIC/NCIC), and other systems: conducts routine analysis of data sets and databases; performs mapping functions and produces computer generated maps displaying crime activity geographically and temporally; updates and maintains GIS data pertaining to crime analysis; performs routine conversions of data sets from other formats; and queries databases for various analytical information.
Attends training and studies current literature on research methodology, law enforcement issues, and current law enforcement technology.
Testifies in Court: May be required to testify in court to information gathered, processed, and other aspects of the job.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, management, other departments, state agencies, the public, and peers.
Communicates with law enforcement officers via radio, emails, messaging, and other mediums to convey information related to active or post-incident investigations.
Complete Incident Report supplementals as required to document actions involving a criminal case.
May be required to work shift work hours, weekends, and holidays; or support operations of an extended event/ detail; or be on-call as directed.
Additional Functions
This classification is designated as a safety sensitive position which is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and any other drug testing methods as stated in policies adopted by Forsyth County concerning drug and alcohol.
Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, typing documents, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, or processing incoming/outgoing mail.
Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required and successful completion of in-house training; Associate Degree in Criminal Justice, Communications, Business, or related field preferred supplemented by three (3) or more years of progressively responsible and knowledgeable support work experience in a criminal justice or law enforcement agency that provides broad knowledge of law enforcement activities, investigations, and follow up activities or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
