Forsyth County Public Library has an opportunity for qualified Library professionals to manage the day-to-day operations of the historic Malloy/Jordan East Winston Heritage Center branch library. This Library Supervisor position is responsible for the provision of library services and programs for the branch. As part of a library work team, the Library Supervisor also provides circulation services, day-to-day management of duties, supervision of employees, and excellent customer service to customers of all ages. Library Supervisors serve on internal teams or committees that work on systemwide initiatives in collaboration with Library Administration. Library Supervisors will demonstrate competencies in current technology and electronic resources and will assist customers using public computers. The work schedule will include nights and weekends.

Conducts performance appraisals, assigns and reviews work, participates in recruitment and selection activities, schedules staff, conducts staff meetings and provides training.
Responsible for collection development and maintenance in assigned unit.
Responsible for ongoing planning for section to include goals and objectives, five-year plan and departmental budget.
Answers reference/research/directional questions using a wide variety of sources.
Advises staff on where to find the answer to difficult reference questions.
Resolves complaints from patrons and acts as liaison between the library and the community.
Develops and implements special programs that enhance service.
May work in providing publicity for library services.
Prepares special studies and statistical reports.
Performs related work as required.
Maintaining a specific license such as a driver's license in good standing, without a lapse or loss of a privilege to drive in compliance with North Carolina law, and in compliance with applicable DOT standards for commercial motor vehicle drivers if required to perform the duties assigned to the position.
