Requirements For Educational Scholar
Submit an application by February 28th
Graduate or be a graduating senior from a Forsyth County High School
Successfully complete an Education Pathway (earning credit for EDUC 2110)
Successfully complete or be concurrently enrolled in EDUC 2120 and EDUC 2130
Minimum GPA of 3.25 in Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) coursework
3 Recommendations
1 – Education as a Profession Teacher
1 – Education as a Profession Mentor Teacher
1 – Personal reference

When is the earliest that I can apply to become an Educational Scholar? January of your senior year.
Is EDUC 2120 a pre-requisite for EDUC 2130? No. Both classes can be taken simultaneously.
Is the Educational Scholars Program an scholarship? No. This program allows you to earn money in college while being employed with Forsyth County Schools.
What is my commitment as an Educational Scholar? You will spend 1 – 2 years working two days a week in Forsyth County Schools while in college, before applying for placement in Forsyth County Schools through the UNG Teacher Candidate Residency Program (TCRP).
