What are the responsibilities and job description for the 4-H Program Assistant position at Forsyth County?
The purpose of this classification is to assist in delivering 4-H curriculum and youth development programming to local youth through in-school classes and after-school special interest programs.
Schedule: 29 hours per week, variable

Conducts in-school classes (4-H club meetings) and deliver prepared curriculum that meets Georgia Professional Standards guidelines.
Incorporates the results of program evaluations and feedback in planning future programs and techniques used in implementing programs under the direction of the County Extension Coordinator.
Assists 4-H students prepare for competitive events such as Project Achievement, judging teams, quiz bowls, etc.
Transports or arranges transportation of 4-H students to various district and state events.
Provides leadership for youth at competitive and other important 4-H events.
Identifies, recruits, trains, and helps supervise 4-H adult volunteers in planning, teaching, and evaluating County Extension 4-H programs.
Assists interested adult volunteers in the successful completion of the 4-H Chaperone Training.
Makes accurate and timely reports to appropriate clientele and stakeholders.
Assists Extension staff with day-to-day operations of the County Extension Office as assigned.
Evening meetings, weekend work, and attendance at out-of-county meetings will be required.
High School diploma or GED
Ability to successfully complete background screening requirements
A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle for official duty travel are required.
Strong communication skills and experience interacting with diverse groups of people
Ability to lead groups effectively, including ability to speak clearly and with sufficient volume to be heard without amplification
Proficient in typing, filing, and computer skills such as Windows and Microsoft Office
Ability to learn about all the services and resources available to county Extension clientele
Ability to assist county clientele in accessing Extension services and resources
Some degree of physical activity is required to conduct programs (e.g. setting up and cleaning up from programs, handling animals, carrying and preparing demonstration materials, setting up audio-video equipment).
