The purpose of this classification is to manage and oversee infrastructure construction projects for the Capital Projects Department, with responsibilities expanding in complexity and scope at each level. As they progress through the series, they will manage more complex projects, take on leadership responsibilities, and become subject matter experts in project management and construction inspection.
The Project Manager positions within the Capital Projects Department are responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of infrastructure construction projects. These roles involve overseeing the full scope of project management, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor coordination, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. As positions progress, employees manage increasingly complex projects, provide leadership to team members, and serve as subject matter experts in construction management and inspection. The responsibilities include conducting inspections, ensuring quality control, preparing reports, and collaborating with various stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and department leaders. $65,344.00 -$107,817.00/annually
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, urban planning, environmental science, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Supplemented by two (2) years of experience in professional construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Depending on area of assignment may require possession of certification as a Wastewater Collection Operator, Water Distribution Operator, and Erosion Control certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire
Project Manager II
$79,579.00- $131,305.00/annually
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, urban planning, environmental science, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Supplemented by five (5) years of experience in professional construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

- Supplemented by five (5) or more years of experience in professional construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Requires a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Georgia.
- Must possess or obtain within one year of hire, certification as a Wastewater Collection Operator, Water Distribution Operator, and Erosion Control certification.
