The purpose of this classification is to manage and oversee transportation-related infrastructure construction projects for the Capital Projects Department. Project Managers will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including planning, budgeting, roadway design coordination, contractor coordination, and ensuring compliance with transportation-specific regulations and standards. As they advance through the series, they will manage increasingly complex transportation projects, take on more leadership responsibilities, and develop expertise in both transportation project management and construction inspection.

The Project Manager positions within the Capital Projects Department are responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of transportation and infrastructure construction projects. These roles involve overseeing the full scope of project management, including budgeting, scheduling, roadway design coordination, contractor coordination, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards. As positions progress, employees manage increasingly complex projects, provide leadership to team members, and serve as subject matter experts in transportation and construction management and inspection. . Employees in these positions play a crucial role in ensuring that transportation and infrastructure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Project Manager I

$65,344.00 -$107,817.00/annually

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, urban planning, environmental science, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Supplemented by two (2) years of experience in professional roadway design coordination,  construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Depending on area of assignment may require possession of certification as a Wastewater Collection Operator, Water Distribution Operator, and Erosion Control certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire

Project Manager II

$79,579.00- $131,305.00/annually

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, urban planning, environmental science, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Supplemented by five (5) years of experience in professional roadway design coordination, construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Depending on area of assignment may require possession of certification as a Wastewater Collection Operator, Water Distribution Operator, and Erosion Control certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.

Project Manager, Senior

$93,815.00- $154,796.00/annually

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Supplemented by five (5) or more years of experience in professional roadway design coordination, construction management and inspection or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Requires a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Georgia.
  • Must possess or obtain within one year of hire, certification as a Wastewater Collection Operator, Water Distribution Operator, and Erosion Control certification.

Salary : $65,344 - $107,817
