What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Services Specialist position at Forsyth County?
The purpose of this classification is to coordinate assessments for our Older Americans Act grant funded programs. Coordination and implementation of assessments for our Congregate and Home Delivered Meals programs. This includes scheduling and organizing initial assessments, reassessments, and closing out clients who no longer need these programs.

Coordinates activities of an assigned program/service designed to assist clients of senior center with various aspects of life.
Schedules and conducts regular reassessments of clients to ensure continued eligibility for program participation.
Maintains current files of each client and related forms/records.
Assists with Home Delivered Meals program with documentation, tracking updates/maintaining files, and status changes
Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, client reports, waiting lists, referral forms, registration forms, nutritional screening instrument forms, calendars, mileage reports, reimbursement reports, or other documents.
Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, referrals, maps, medical resources, product instructions, policies, procedures, manuals, directories, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate.
Operates a computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data; verifies accuracy of entered data and makes corrections; utilizes word processing or other computer programs.
Communicates with supervisor, employees, students, volunteers, other departments, clients, passengers, the public, community agencies, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
Maintains a comprehensive, current knowledge of applicable laws/regulations; maintains an awareness of new trends and advances in the profession; reads professional literature; maintains professional affiliations; attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Operates a passenger van or small bus to transport clients or other individuals as needed.
This classification is designated as a safety sensitive position which is subject to random drug and alcohol testing and any other drug testing methods as stated in policies adopted by Forsyth County concerning drug and alcohol.
Performs general/clerical tasks, which may include answering telephone calls, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, filing documentation, picking up or delivering mail, or conducting visitor tours of senior center.
Assists with senior center activities and special projects as needed; serves as escort on trips as needed.
Provides assistance to other employees or departments as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
