What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Design and Digital Photography Instructor position at Forsyth Technical Community College?
Forsyth Tech is seeking a part-time faculty to teach the Digital Design and Digital Photography courses asynchronously for our main campus in Winston Salem, NC. These classes are online/asynchronous, so preferred applicants should have experience in asynchronous instruction
The Digital Design course is designed to introduce students to the elements and principles of design through the use of digital software. Emphasis is placed on developing composition and design skills using vector, raster, and time-based media.
The Digital Photography course introduces digital photographic equipment, theory and processes. Emphasis is placed on camera operation, composition, computer photo manipulation and creative expression. Both courses are suggested electives for our AFA/ Visual Art program.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- MFA, MM, or terminal degree in a relevant discipline, along with experience instructing at the college level
Preferred:
- Community College teaching experience
- Teaching asynchronous courses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Working knowledge of Office 365.
- Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the dean.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records including electronic attendance and grade reports, roll books, etc.
- Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
- Construct, administer, and grade examinations.
- Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
- Treat others respectfully, speak to others courteously and behave in such a way that creates a workplace environment that is marked by trustworthiness, honest but polite communication, and interpersonal interactions that are both personally cordial and professionally appropriate.
- Model an understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy and mission.
