Fort Bend Christian Academy is has an opening for an Advancement Associate for Alumni and Donor Relations. The Office of Advancement assists FBCA in securing the resources, both human and financial, that are required to achieve its mission and goals. The Department is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of individuals and organizations whose charitable objectives are consistent with those of FBCA’s teaching and spiritual, academic, social and physical programs.
General Description: Work in partnership with the Director of Advancement to support the Director of Advancement in strengthening alumni and donor relationships for FBCA. This position is responsible for developing stewardship strategies for donors and processing gifts from all contributors (cash, check, online, pledges, payroll deduction, matching gifts, charitable foundations, corporate and local partners, etc.). The Advancement Associate will oversee reporting analysis to provide insights for major gift donors, stakeholder participation and Annual Fund contributions. The Advancement Associate ensures that all charitable gifts to FBCA are handled with integrity and abide by Federal and State tax guidelines. This position is responsible for helping engage alumni and creating a database to ensure all data is current. The Advancement Associate will collaborate to help students remain connected after they graduate from FBCA.

Donor Relations

Qualifications: Previous work experience should include evidence of:
- Attention to detail and accounting/numbers expertise.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, collaborate and be flexible.
- 1-2 years of professional experience is required, ideally in education, event planning, fundraising/development, alumni relations, data analytics or marketing.
- Current computer skills include working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Raiser’s Edge knowledge a plus.
- A Bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, is necessary.
The Advancement Associate shall:
Donor Relations
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all transactions within the Advancement, Business and Head of School offices.
- Maintain the Raiser’s Edge constituency database while collaborating with the school's database administrator to integrate data from CORE to Raiser’s Edge for all records.
- Keep detailed records to document special donor requirements and designations and ensure those conditions for the use of the gift are met by FBCA.
- Implement stewardship efforts as directed by the Director of Advancement.
- Maintain a filing system to organize receipts and follow-up correspondence regarding constituents.
- Record all donations and assist with the preparation and mailing of donation receipts, special appeals, bulk mailings, etc.
- Compile reports, year-end statements, etc. for the use of the Director of Advancement.
- Work closely with the Business Office to reconcile monthly deposits, reports and external audits as needed.
- Prepare bank deposits as needed, reconcile all bank, broker, and credit card accounts monthly.
- Reconcile online giving with Raiser’s Edge personnel and credit card companies each month.
- Build donations pages for online credit card donations via Online Express as needed for various purposes (Annual Fund, Birthday Board, Booster Club, etc.).
- Prepare other reports and handle other accounting related duties as needed.
- Build and update alumni records for the database.
- Build relationships with students through graduation, engaging recent graduates in an alumni benefits program.
- Oversee and maintain alumni engagement: build relationships, create and sustain traditions, communications (mailings – post / electronic, website and social media networks), and connections
- Assist in the Annual Fund engagement.
- Collaborate with the Upper School to help foster the relationship once students graduate.
- Create and send communication to alumni and alumni families.
- Work as a team player to accomplish a variety of special projects, events and mailings.
- Be willing to work after hours to coordinate and serve at special events (for example - Gala/Auction, Homecoming, Giving Day, Capital Campaign events, luncheons, meetings, etc.).
- Direct the maintenance and update of the constituent database, compile reports based on the constituent information.
- Other duties as assigned.
