What are the responsibilities and job description for the Middle School Science Teacher position at Fort Bend Christian Academy?
Fort Bend Christian Academy is accepting applications for a Middle School Science Teacher (5th grade Integrated Science and 6th grade Earth Science). A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a valid Texas teaching certificate is required. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, knowledge in the subject area, knowledge of curriculum and instruction and a passion to teach and disciple young students. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are also important. A preference will be given to those who have an advanced degree and/or at least 3 years related work experience.
The Middle School Science Teacher will:

The Middle School Science Teacher will be expected to:
- Teach, supervise, direct, and evaluate students in grade(s) and subject(s) as defined by the administration in a manner consistent with a Christian education and the philosophies of Fort Bend Christian Academy.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of biblically integrated instruction consistent with the school’s “Statement of Faith” and “Declaration of Values.” Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in individual student differences.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
- Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to board requirements.
- Model and promote exceptional academic instruction and learning.
- Facilitate and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Stimulate higher-level reasoning and critical thinking among students in the classroom.
- Maintain communication with students and parents in a timely and professional manner.
- Be available for help outside of the classroom.
- Participate in extracurricular school activities such as club sponsorship, chaperoning dances and/or travel, occasionally helping with athletic and fine arts events, and attending some extracurricular school activities.
- Pursue opportunities for continuing teacher education and collaboration with professional colleagues.
- Responsibly comply with and promote the unity and order of the school.
