Responsibilities
- Supervise and rehabilitate juveniles referred to the department.
- Participate in planning programs, policies, or objectives for own work group and department.
- Assess needs of juvenile and family to determine appropriate residential placement facility.
- Conduct random drug testing on juveniles as needed.
- Work with the District Attorney's office to provide recommendations regarding court proceedings.
- Maintain monthly contact with juvenile, family, and program staff.
- Address issues through face-to-face visits and frequent traveling to placement facilities.
- Update the court on issues and/or changes regarding child's progress and placement status.
- Provide training for staff in department and other Juvenile Probation departments.
- Participate in activities related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by county managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or other state-approved related field.
- ~2 years of job-related experience.
- Good computer skills.
- Good organizational skills and ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.
- Certified Juvenile Probation Officer.
- Hourly pay rate of 96 dollars per hour.
