Job Overview
The Supervisor Extended Learning will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the department including program management, staffing, professional development, curriculum implementation and discipline. The incumbent will work in collaboration with other department leaders to develop, manage, and improve department programs for students from early childhood through adult learners.

Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the management of the campus program(s) before and/or after school, including staff supervision and program implementation. Resolve parent, child, and staff issues escalated from the site level
- Recommend hiring, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Review and evaluate the performance of site staff and ensure compliance with District and program guidelines
- Supervise investigations of accidents, discipline issues, and other events requiring discretion, policy compliance and thorough exploration
- Assist in the preparation of site budgets; review, authorize and monitor campus expenditures. Initiate, maintain, and submit timely, complete, and accurate records and reports including, but not limited to inventory, fiscal, personnel, and students
- Promote and monitor compliance with procedures in assigned schools to ensure safe operation. Take immediate action to remedy issues
- Assist in the development of procedures and guidelines for the program and make recommendations for improvements
- Develop and deliver training to site staff. Ensure implementation and quality of prescribed training to site staff
- Communicate regularly with staff, parents, children, and campus staff to foster a team approach
- Comply with program policies/procedures in order to serve as a role model to participants of the program
- Utilize positive behavior strategies and maintain professionalism in interactions with participants
- Attend required trainings and meetings
- Actively market the department programs to recruit and retain potential customers and staff

- Bachelor's Degree
- Other focus in education, or other child related field preferred
- Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment Teaching certification, Certification by the Council For Early Childhood Professional Recognition, or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred
- Certification by the Council For Early Childhood Professional Recognition, or Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
- Child Care-Center Director's Certificate issued by TDFPS preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of considerable experience in the group care of school age children
- Minimum of 1 year of experience shall have been in a supervisory capacity
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to foster effective, working relationship with diverse students, staff, parents and administrators
- Ability to utilize technology to accomplish duties; understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions; provide effective leadership; maintain program quality; carry out program long term goals
