Job Overview
The Supervisor Grounds will supervise grounds crew in maintaining ground and athletic fields. This incumbent will also consider the role of the District IPM Coordinator.

Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Athletic Fields and Grounds Operation
- Coordinate and assist with the set up and remove soccer goals, football goal posts, basketball goals and other athletic and playground equipment
- Lead and coordinate with Athletic department to conduct inspections of athletic fields
- Coordinate pick-up trash, paper, cans, trimmings, litter and other debris and place in proper containers or loads onto a truck
- Purchase grounds related equipment, materials and part
- Report any hazardous situations observed and remove any hazardous objects
- Work order Management – assign and priorities work orders, cost materials and labor
- Purchase grounds related equipment, materials and parts
- Administer training program for grounds personnel
- Monitor cost, labor and materials related to Grounds maintenance projects
- Oversee and manage inventory of grounds equipment and supplies
- Maintain records for district licensed applicators Licenses / certificates and CEU’s and all applications
- Maintain records of all applications performed on campus grounds and services performed in campus buildings performed by Contracted Vendors
- Maintain records of product labels and Safety Data used in the industry of Pest Control, Lawns and Grassy Sports Turf
- Maintain and keep records of licenses and certifications of district approved contracted Pest Control vendors
- Monitor and maintain records for district contracted pest control services to interiors of district owned campuses, facilities and offsite
- Inspect buildings, campus grounds and athletic fields set up treatments for both interior and exteriors for targeted Pest control
- Ability to positively ID Pest – insects, rodents, wildlife, plants, weeds and turf for
- Supervise crews in prepping athletic fields for seasonal sports play
- Supervise Grounds maintenance Mechanics in repairs of grounds equipment (Athletic sports field equipment, tractors, mowers, generators etc.)
- Monitor and evaluate grounds staff

- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Drivers License
- Structural License
- IPM Cerificate
- Certification of Lawn and Ornamental Applicator in State of Texas
- Minimum of 3 years
- Poses Structural license / Certifications in Lawn and Ornamental as Certified Applicator in the state of Texas
- Knowledge of equipment and materials used in Pest Control methods
- Thorough knowledge of established policies and Procedures in maintaining Athletic fields and Campus Grounds
- Thorough knowledge of grounds maintenance procedures, equipment and materials related to grounds
- Thorough knowledge of irrigation systems – audits, controls, schedules and cycling of systems
- Thorough knowledge and ability to apply Products related in the lawn and ornamental beds, campus grounds and athletic fields
- Thorough knowledge of IPM guidelines and procedures and the use of Green, Yellow and Red use products
- Ability to positively ID Pest – insects, rodents, wildlife, plants, weeds and turf and read Pest Control Management

Additional Information
- Work requires sufficient physical strength, agility, dexterity, and hand-eye-foot coordination to perform all essential functions including operating power mowers and tools, lifting and carrying objects weighting up to 50 pounds, reaching in front of body and overhead while holding or carrying objects. Duties also require frequent sitting, walking, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and bending. Work also requires employee to climb and work from ladders, catwalks and supports up to heights of 45 feet. Work is performed primarily outdoors in the operation of mowers and other power tools, and exposes employee to potential hazards such as dust, exhaust fumes, sharp cutting blades, and flying rocks and debris. Employee is also exposed to potential physical hazards when working off ladders, catwalks and supports, and to potential chemical hazards when handling and applying chemicals. Work requires the frequent use of safety clothing and equipment and compliance with safety rules and procedures. Must be able to handle stressful situations as necessary and work evening and unusual hours.
