Job Overview
This position can be filled by an Educational Diagnostician or a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. The Specialist Diagnostic PT will be responsible for conducting thorough evaluations that determine a special education disability condition, an educational need for specialized instruction through special education, and appropriate recommendations that translate to positive learning outcomes for the student. The incumbent will attend and participate in ARD / IEP meetings. Maintain compliance with all federal / local timelines, individual records, state performance plan indicators 11 & 12, and discipline procedures. Additionally, if this role is filled by an LSSP, they will also develop, implement, and monitor the progress of appropriate related services for special education students, including instructional, direct, and indirect related services. They will draft relevant ARD / IEP paperwork including IEP goals, Behavior Intervention Plans, and supplements.
Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
SERVICE DELIVERY
- Plan and provide services that are appropriate and consistent with Full Individual Evaluations
- Collaborate with campus, special education, and district staff to verify accuracy of PEIMS data in conjunction with IEP services
- Participate in ARD / IEP meetings as outlined in district special education handbook
- Plan and provide services that are appropriate and consistent with counseling / behavior goals contained in the IEP (if LSSP)
- Provide related services in the form of counseling or direct / indirect psychological services, and / or instructional services in the form of social skills instruction to identified students within the special education population as determined by an IEP (if LSSP)
- Develop Functional Behavioral Assessments, Counseling, Behavior and Social Skills IEPs, IEPs, and Behavior Intervention Plans (if LSSP)
- Deliver short-term services for students such as crisis counseling, suicide prevention, and behavior consultation (if LSSP)
