Position Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technical
- Change filters in HVAC units, reset air handler units
- Check Level I HVAC equipment specifications such as tightness of belts, temperature of motors, cleanliness of ducting and other performance indicators
- Use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, socket sets, pliers, and wire cutters, etc. to perform routine preventive maintenance
- Load materials, tool and equipment on trucks; carry tools and equipment to and from work sites
- Complete paperwork required to report on equipment condition and maintenance status
- Keep the work area clean and orderly ensuring all safety precautions, regulations and equipment are utilized properly
- Perform assigned on-the-job training tasks
Qualification Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid Texas Drivers License required
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate and follow directions clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Skilled in the use of general tools and testing equipment pertinent to the job

- Work requires sufficient physical strength, agility, dexterity and hand-eye-foot coordination to perform all essential functions, including lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds, reaching in front of body and overhead while holding objects weighing up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods of time, bending over equipment, crawling under equipment, working in confined spaces and in uncomfortable positions, and balancing self, materials and tools on high and/or slanted surfaces. Work also involves frequent kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching and climbing. Work is performed both inside and outside buildings and facilities. Employee is subject to adverse weather conditions, extreme temperatures and high noise levels. Employee is also exposed to potential hazards associated with cleaning chemicals, flammable liquids, and the operation of tools, equipment and machinery.
