Experience:
One (1) year direct work experience in a hospital setting.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalency (HSE).
Valid American Heart Association (AHA) certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintain certification.

- APPLICANT MUST HAVE A VALID, UNRESTRICTED INSURABLE DRIVER’S LICENSE**
- RESUME AND REFERENCES ARE REQUIRED**
- Assist radiologic technologists in preparing exam rooms and clean equipment before and after use.
- Set up the exam table and room, clean the equipment and scanner room.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging processes.
- Perform basic patient care tasks such as assisting with dressing or undressing.
- Provide instructions to patients on how to prepare for the exam.
- Assist with lifting and transporting of patients to and from the Radiology department safely.
- Follow established department procedures to accurately verify and transport the proper patient by visually checking patient identification and verifying with nursing staff.
- Transport patients to and from radiology, emergency department and inpatient areas via wheelchair, bed or gurney. Assist technologists with patient movement and positioning.
- Observe patient and equipment during transport and reports unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition to sending and/or receiving clinical staff.
- Comfort patient and families by offering support and encouragement with the goal of alleviating anxiety and fear surrounding the radiology process.
- Inform those accompanying the patient regarding waiting areas, expected timelines, and procedures.
- Assist with non-patient transport including but not limited to laboratory specimens, CDs, and contrast material.
- Maintain safe and clean radiology transport equipment.
- Safely handles medical equipment including IV pumps and poles, oxygen tanks, patient charts, and monitors other equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and infection control guidelines when transporting patient and equipment.
- Answer any questions patients may have about procedure.
- Maintain and organize radiology equipment, supplies, linen, and other items as needed.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- Maintain clear communication with medical staff and patients.
- Work with technologists and support staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Review the daily schedule to coordinate with the technologists and assist with patient care.
- Deliver equipment and supplies by picking up requisitioned orders and taking them to assigned areas.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
