Job SummaryWe are seeking a friendly and organized Hotel Reservations Agent to handle all incoming telephone inquiries and reservations. This role involves promoting hotel services, ensuring maximum room revenues, and acting as the main PBX operator for the Hotel/Casino.
Key Responsibilities- Possess telephone communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell, and influence potential hotel guests.
- Transfer calls to the appropriate departments.
- Provide excellent customer service and inform guests of all amenities and outlets available.
- Follow the tasks listed in the Reservation Check List with instruction and training for each shift.
- Assist in administrative duties related to booking, tracking, charging, handling, and entering room reservations.
- Enter appropriate data into the PMS and use all significant market segments.
- Be thoroughly familiar with hotel amenities, room rate promotions, restaurants, surrounding venues, and hotel policy to assist guests with requests for information.
- Follow reservation protocols and practices.
- Multi-task with all duties and assignments.
- Be responsible for the Reservations Daily Check List with accountability.
- Practice adequate communication with transactions.
- Complete all shift reports at the end of the shift and provide accurate pass-on.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all information processed through the department, including records, reports, documents, and conversations.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of Hotel Front Desk/Reservations experience preferred.
- Hospitality Certification, Excellent Phone Etiquette experience, Online Travel Agent experience, and Bilingual Shoshone Bannock/Spanish preferred but not required (G1).
- High school diploma or GED required; college courses preferred.
- Two years of Hotel Front Desk/Reservations experience preferred.
- Hospitality Certification, Excellent Phone Etiquette experience, Online Travel Agent experience, and Bilingual Shoshone Bannock/Spanish preferred but not required (G2).
- Must submit supporting documents of education and training (High School Diploma, GED, Degree, and Certificates).
- Must obtain and maintain a valid Driver’s License and qualify for Fleet Management coverage on company vehicles.
- Ability to stand for long periods (6-10 hours) and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Public work environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, tobacco smoke, and airborne particles.
- Moderate noise level.
