The Barista performs various duties related to the coffee counter including beverage/food preparation and assembly, food portioning, customer service and sanitation in the coffee area.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Responsible for the coffee area daily operation and service.
- Restocks all items for area including, but not limited to, paper products, coffee supplies, beverages, and food items.
- Prepares brewed coffee, bakery items, and other food items.
- Practices proper food handling procedures following the HACCP guidelines.
- Practices proper food storage and labeling. Checks dates to ensure that no items have expired; ensures coffee machine and other equipment is operating properly. Records temperatures on log sheet daily. Enters work orders when needed.
- Operates cash register, balances register, makes deposits. Operates mobile ordering – tickets, balancing mobile orders from back of house.
- Secures the coffee area at end of shift and makes sure lock out of equipment has occurred.
- Is responsible for cleaning all equipment in coffee area, washing and sanitizing counters, shelves, cupboards, mopping and sweeping daily.
Requirements for this position include:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to follow instructions of supervisors
