Job Opportunity: Licensed Boat Captain

Fort Lauderdale Boat Rental is seeking a reliable and experienced Licensed Boat Captain to join our team and operate our fleet, including a Tahoe 1950, and a SeaRay 270SDX OB (27-footer). Our trips explore the stunning Biscayne Bay intracoastal from our commercial slip.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a friendly demeanor
- Process payments and ensure guests complete necessary paperwork
- Deliver a 5-star service experience to our clientele
- Navigate the bay, entertain guests, and provide local insights
- Maintain boats in optimal condition and ensure they are clean after each trip
- Ensure all boats meet Coast Guard requirements
- Foster positive relationships with marina staff, Coast Guard personnel, and other businesses
- Conduct post-trip inspections and report any issues to management
- Promote and sell upgrades to enhance the guest experience
- Move boats between slips as required
- Capture Instagram-worthy photos of guests and the surroundings
- Refuel boats as necessary
- Availability to work weekends with flexible weekday hours
Schedule:
- 1 day off per week
- On-call position: Possibility to get Guaranteed hours tips.
Additional $40/hour for any hours exceeding 50/month. Hourly pay option is also available.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Please apply if you meet the following criteria:
- Valid USCG Captain’s license (Six Pack minimum)
- Proven experience navigating Biscayne Bay
- Experience driving smaller boats
- Strong commitment to safety and reliability with a high level of integrity
- Background in guest services, customer relations, hospitality, or entertainment
- Respect for marine life and environment
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with back-to-back charters
- Knowledge of boat maintenance and cleaning practices
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible schedule to accommodate varying workloads
- Passion for photography
- Willingness to enroll in a Drug and Alcohol Consortium
- Proficiency in English; French-speaking candidates preferred
Additional Compensation:
- Commissions on sales and upgrades tips
- Guaranteed hours

Certification Requirements:
