Music Director/Accompanist

Fort Lewis Christian Church is looking for an individual who will be responsible for directing and developing the choir, musicians and other musical participants. Must be able to perform a variety of both traditional and contemporary songs/music. Seeking a visionary and builder that will develop leaders and possibly other choirs.

Requirements:

• At least three (3) years’ experience leading choirs
• Bachelor’s degree in music preferred
• Vocal proficiency
• Ability to play piano proficiently and other instruments strongly preferred
• Effective public speaking skills

Responsibilities:

• Ability to teach and lead adult choir
• To develop, teach and lead other varied music programs such as youth choir, children’s choir, music programs for special events, etc.
• To be present and perform during regularly scheduled choir rehearsals, Sunday morning services and special events as required by the Church
• Coordinate music for regular services and/or special music programs with the Minister and Worship Committee
• To recruit and develop new choir members

Anticipated commitment is at least 15 hours weekly.

Salary is $17,000/year
