Position Summary:

In June 2023, Fort Lewis College and the La Plata Economic Development Alliance were awarded a $1.25 million Opportunity Now grant to fund the Rural Upskill Network “Project RUN”. The program provides adult learners with accessible and high-quality education through professional certificates driven by industry and community needs.

The Program Navigator will manage a new program with industry partner Axis Health Systems to create work-based learning opportunities and convene healthcare employers in the regions to develop new healthcare occupational pathways with a focus on dental care. This position is a member of the Project RUN team to support all aspects of planning, design, and implementation during the two-year program period. This position will support the distribution of scholarships, manage and promote support services for participants, and provide administrative support for all stakeholders and contribute to a regional workforce strategy that leads to a skilled and diverse healthcare workforce, driving economic mobility across the region.

Job Description:

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Program Management

  • Coordinate the planning, design, and implementation of a dental healthcare occupational pathway that includes work-based learning opportunities for adult learners and nondegree seekers 

  • Develop and guide Project RUN’s work-based learning efforts and coordinate a comprehensive project plan that outlines key milestones, timelines, and resources needed for the successful implementation of the two-year program.

  • Coordinate with the Project RUN Director and program leads (FLC,  Alliance, and Axis) to ensure consistent communication, efficient processes, and seamless program integration

  • Collaborate with faculty and healthcare industry partners to design healthcare program curriculum and learning outcomes that align with industry needs

  • Foster partnerships with industry leaders, employers, and community organizations to identify job placement/retention opportunities for certificate program participants

  • Coordinate quarterly healthcare employer talent pipeline management convenings

  • Coordinate with FLC, Alliance, and Axis Marketing teams to develop promotional materials, website content, and marketing strategies to attract regional participants

Program Evaluation

  • Develop and maintain program documentation to track and measure key data points throughout the two-year program.

  • Conduct site interviews and develop continuous improvement plans and contribute to  sustainability planning 

  • Support Project RUN team in continuous improvement of program on an ongoing basis

Additional Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities

  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.

  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or four years of equivalent experience.

  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience.

Specialized Skills and Experience

  • Preferred experience or training in a project and/or program management role

  • Strong time management and organization skills

  • Effective written, oral, and presentation communication skills

  • Proven ability to be adaptable, effectively balance numerous high priority tasks at any point in time

  • High level of initiative, results driven, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Excellent computer skills including Google Workplace, Microsoft Excel, and candidate’s preferred project management tools.

 

Reports To / Supervisory Responsibility

The Economic Development Alliance holds this program contract in partnership with FLC. This position is a joint appointment between Fort Lewis College and the Economic Development Alliance. The Program Navigator will directly report to the Program Director who dually reports to both organizations.

Travel

This position will require light travel. Regional travel will include but is not limited to: Durango, Pagosa Springs, Cortez, Silverton, and Ignacio.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is Salary is $52,500-$58,000.  Plus a comprehensive benefits package.
