- Valid Iowa Teaching License, plus one of the following endorsements:
- 5-12 All Science is preferred
- 5-12 Earth Science
- 5-12 General Science
Job Description:
- Develops, plans, and implements curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs for students within areas of expertise.
- Advises, assesses, and teaches students using a variety of strategies for total student participation.
- Designs instruction to release responsibility of the thinking and learning to the student.
- Answers student inquiries and resolves student struggles related to curriculum.
- Prepares appropriate documentation and reports on programs and on student progress.
- Collaborates with team members to coordinate intervention and extension activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with team members in a professional learning community.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and make decisions about instruction and learning.
- Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, assessment, and teaching methodologies.
- Ability to perform light physical effort; may require handling of average-weight objects.
- Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Employs methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Assess the progress of students and provide progress reports, updates families on an ongoing basis via Powerschool or Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
- Develop and maintain an effective level of communication with appropriate personnel.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence Works collaboratively with content area/grade level teams within a Professional Learning Community.
- Full-time position, beginning with the 2025-2026 school year
