Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional or social difficulties.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation among students.
- Respond to crises involving students, providing immediate support and resources.
- Work with families and community resources to connect students in need with appropriate services.
- Excellent problem-solving and crisis intervention skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to address students' needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and interventions.
- Ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff.
- Work collaboratively with other care providers in the school within a multi-tiered system of support to address student needs.
- Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community.
- Assist families in navigating school systems and accessing resources.
- Understanding of cultural competency and diversity in the school environment.
- Provide training and workshops for teachers and staff on social-emotional learning and mental health awareness.
- Educate students and families about available resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Prepare reports for school administration and relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MWS) with State of Iowa license
- BOEE State of Professional Services and BOEE Statement of Professional Recognition
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of social-emotional learning, mental health issues, and community resources
