What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Associate-Preschool position at Fort Madison Community School District?
Hours: 7 Hours per Day Pay Rate: $13.90 per hour
Workdays: Days are prorated for the remainder of the current school year
Qualifications: The qualified applicant must meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness and mathematics readiness).
The qualified applicant must also have one of the following:
- Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education; or
- Obtained an Associates (or higher) degree; or
- Obtained voluntary Para certification through the Board of Educational Examiners; or
- Obtained an NCRC (National Career Readiness Certificate, Bronze Level)
Requirements Include but Not Limited To:
- Establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students, staff, and others contacted in the course of the work
- Prefer experience working with young children of diverse abilities levels in an organized
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to plan and deliver high-quality early childhood programming.
- Based on student needs; assist the teacher and related service professionals in carrying out any additional requirements for students with special health
- Supervise and maintain discipline on the playground, in the lunchroom, in the classroom, and in traffic congested areas
- Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, families, and others
- Mandatory CPI training and other required state and district training
- Attend work regularly and promptly-FMCSD employee attendance expectation is 95%
- Other duties as assigned
