JOB TITLE: FORT MCDOWELL YAVAPAI MATERIALS GENERAL MANAGER

REPORTS TO: FMYN ENTERPRISE GENERAL MANAGER
SALARY: DOE
POSITION STATUS: REGULAR FULL-TIME, FLSA NON-EXEMPT
HOURS PER WEEK: 40
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for professional and administrative work, which includes planning, directing, and overseeing operational activities for Fort McDowell Yavapai Materials. The work involves the independent and regular exercise of discretion and judgment regarding all facets of Fort McDowell Yavapai Materials.
REQUIREMENTS/DUTIES

• Ability to assess capital needs.
• Ability to develop policies and procedures.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with both customers and employees.
• Directs all aspects of the Sand and Gravel and Decorative Rock Operations
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and tribal laws.
• Ensures maximum profitability while adhering to all laws, regulations, procedures, and safety standards required in the operation of open-pit mining.
• Manage production, sales, dispatch, and accounting departments.
• Oversee expenditures and maintain operational budget.
• Oversee training and support of Department Managers with Safety and Quality Control
• Prepare and execute an annual budget and business plan.
• Works with other enterprise managers and departments to promote FMYN Enterprise branding.
• Current Arizona Driver’s License and able to meet Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation insurance standards.
• Excellent analytical, budgetary, managerial, and administrative skills
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Experience with customer service and managing others.
• Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA laws and regulations
• Knowledge of daily deposits, closing reports, balance transactions, and interface with Enterprise Accounting
• Knowledge of various computer programs, including Excel and Outlook, and basic abilities to learn industry-specific programs
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and an extensive background check.
• Must be able to develop and implement a succession plan designed to coach, train, and mentor FMYN Tribal Members
• Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and sales experience.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
An associate degree in Business Management or a related field, or the ability to obtain an associate degree in Business Management within three years, is required. Candidates must have at least two (2) years of senior managerial experience in mining, sand, and gravel operations, including administration, budgeting, planning, forecasting, capital asset management, marketing, staffing, supervision, and training.
