Qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Proficiency with technology, typing and dictation.
- Working knowledge of basic office procedures and the operation of common office equipment and machines.
- Pleasant and customer-focused demeanor.
- Ability to take instructions and work well with others.
- Ability to assist the public with tact and enthusiasm.
- Experience with Office Professionals Programs including Microsoft Office Suite, and a willingness to learn different computer programs.
- A genuine passion for working with children and educators.
Reports to: Coordinator of Alternative Programs (Supervisor)
Supervises: Student helpers, volunteers, clerical assistants, and students as needed.
Job Goal:
To respond quickly to inquiries from staff, the public, etc. to provide requested information and/or referral to other parties as requested by the principal, and providing general clerical support as needed for supervisor.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Answers multiline telecommunication system for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries and/or taking messages for supervisor.
- Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Distributes mail, supplies, messages, menus, keys, etc. for the purpose of disseminating materials to appropriate parties.
- Evaluates situations (e.g. involving other staff, students, parents, the public, police, probation department, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution.
- Performs record keeping and a broad array of general and program specific clerical functions (eg. scheduling, copying, faxing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting supervisor and/or site with necessary materials as may be required.
- Greets public, parents, students, vendors, etc. for the purpose of responding to their inquiries and/or directing them to appropriate personnel.
- Processes documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating informatoin to appropriate parties.
- Responds to emergency calls for the purpose of notifying appropriate parties to address immediate safety issues as needed.
- Schedules a variety of activities (eg. meetings, work orders, vendors, travel arragements, staff coverage, facilities usage, etc.) for the purpose of assisting in meeting staff needs and supporting the supervisor.
- Performs other reasonable functions as requested by the supervisor.
Terms of Employment:
S4 FMSD Salary Schedule. 190 contract days per year. 7 hours per day. Non-exempt position. Placement based upon experience and credentials.
Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
