JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Outreach Driver Department: Vocational Rehabilitation
Reports To: Director Employment Status: Full Time
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Classification: Sensitive
Supervisory Status: No Salary Minimum: DOE
Driving Classification: Valid Driver’s License
Summary:
This is a full-time position working for the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe within Fort Mojave Vocational
Rehabilitation (FMVR). The primary responsibility of Outreach Driver is to transport consumers of the program
to job related activities, and this includes meetings with the vocational rehabilitation counselor and any activities
or training at the FMVR office. The Outreach Driver is also responsible for the dissemination of mail, flyers,
brochures, and notices, as well as custodial duties. Individual must be able to keep highly sensitive information
confidential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transport FMVR consumers to designated destination, school, work, analysis of disability or vocational
- Courteous to FMVR passengers and maintain professional boundaries
- Assist passengers in and out of vehicle as needed
- Deliver and pick up mail between the Tribal Office and the FMVR mailbox and the FMVR office
- Deliver mail to consumers
- Check gasoline, oil, water, and tires as required. Report any malfunctions of equipment to supervisor and
- Gas receipts turned in appropriately
- Keep mileage record of vehicles and turn in monthly to director
- Keep consumer contact records
- Participate in bi-annual Advisory Committee meetings and annual staff planning retreat
- Participate in monthly FMVR Aha-Macav Support Circle, Annual Honoring Abilities Conference, and Annual
- Make appointments to have vehicle cleaned twice a month
- Outreach, understand the FMVR program and be able to refer potential consumers to program
- Assist Counselor in the field, in an outreach capacity
- QuickBooks data entry
- Inventory and ordering of supplies and enter Purchase Orders in QuickBooks
- Answer phones, record in phone log, record and disseminate messages to appropriate person, transfer calls
- Calendar scheduling using Microsoft Outlook
- Provide orientation to consumers
- Custodial duties: vacuum, clean bathrooms, and empty trash weekly in suite A, B, and C

• Completes all other job-related activities as requested by the Director of Vocational Rehabilitation
- Participate in workshops, conferences, meetings, seminars, and classes, especially in the field of vocational
rehabilitation
Qualifications:
- Required: Clean DMV Record.
- Required: Ability to work in a seated position for long periods of time.
- Required: High degree of attention required for prevention of injury to other and damage to the FMVR
- Required: Ability to work indoor and outdoor, but not regularly exposed to weather extremes.
- Required: Flexibility related to hours working.
- Required: Must pass background check
- Required: Ability to perform simply arithmetic equations.
Education/Experience:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Required: Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured under the FMIT insurance plan.
Language Ability:
- Speak in a clear voice
- Answer phone professionally
- Assist people of diversified backgrounds with resource information
- Sensitive dialog with American Indians with disabilities
- Ability to provide information to potential consumers in a way that is non-threatening
Reasoning Ability:
- The ability to communicate with potential consumers and consumers of program.
Computer Skills:
- Required: The ability to type and use modern office equipment and have experience in using Microsoft
- Required: The ability to perform simple computer tasks such as calendaring and writing case notes.
License Requirements:
- Required: Valid driver’s license and be insurable under the FMIT insurance plan.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The employee may occasionally be required to move boxes of up to 50 pounds.
- Normal vision requirements, i.e., close vision, distance vision. The employee is frequently required to sit or
stand for long periods of time and walk distances as well as stoop, bend, kneel and crouch. Reasonable
accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disability to perform the essential functions.
