Position Overview: We are looking for empathetic and skilled In-Home Support Specialists to join our team. This role is similar to working in a group home setting, providing direct support to individuals with autism in their home environment during evening and overnight shifts. You will play a crucial role in enhancing their daily living skills, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Implement individualized support plans that focus on social skills, communication, and behavioral development.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to foster connection and engagement.
- Monitor and document client progress, making necessary adjustments to support plans.
- Collaborate with families and team members to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment during evening and overnight hours.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or in a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of behavioral support techniques is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, compassionate, and adaptable demeanor.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible availability for evening and overnight shifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training in psychology, education, or a related field is a plus.
