Estimator-Project Manager Trainee

Summary:
The Estimator-Project Manager Trainee is an entry-level role that provides hands-on training in project estimation, budgeting, and management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with design calculations, engineering drawings, and technical specifications,
- The trainee will assist in preparing bids, analyzing costs, coordinating with subcontractors, and overseeing project progress to ensure successful completion,
- Help with coordination and management throughout the duration of the project,
- Conduct research and analysis to support project requirements,
- Excavation, grading, drainages, erosion control,
- Assist in maintaining project records, including daily logs, progress reports, and material tracking,
- Value engineering and negotiating change orders,
- Supporting in monitoring site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations,
- May be required to work extended hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends,
- Additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field,
- 0-1 years prior experience in heavy highway construction preferred,
- Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and site management, preferred,
- Maintain proper job record such as scheduling,
- Ability to initiate tasks and execute accurately & effectively,
- Must have a positive attitude and work ethic,
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands,
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills,
- English/Bilingual preferred,
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel),
- Proficiency in construction software (CAD, Heavy Bid, Vista, Bluebeam, Primavera) is preferred,
- Must be self-motivated and dedicated to high-quality work,
- Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.
