The Assistant General Manager will assist in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, managing a team of employees, and supporting the General Manager in achieving business goals. This role requires a strong eye for design, color, and detail, along with excellent customer service skills and great communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Support:
- Assist in supervising and training staff, including floral designers and sales associates.
- Support the General Manager in scheduling and delegating tasks.
- Provide guidance and motivation to the team, fostering a positive work environment.
- Act as the General Manager in their absence, ensuring smooth operations.
Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, assisting customers with floral selections and special orders.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional manner.
- Build lasting relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat business.
Floral Operations:
- Oversee the creation of floral arrangements for various occasions, ensuring quality and creativity.
- Maintain inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering flowers and supplies.
- Ensure floral products meet quality standards and are displayed attractively.
Sales and Business Goals:
- Assist in achieving sales targets and implementing promotional strategies.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing input to improve profitability.
- Upsell and recommend products to enhance the customer experience.
Operational Management:
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Help manage the store's budget, including controlling labor and inventory costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and health regulations.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with maintaining accurate records of sales, expenses, and inventory.
- Support hiring processes, including screening candidates and conducting initial interviews.
- Assist with employee timecard and payroll.
- Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures and handling floral tools and materials.
