Harbor's Edge is a premier 5-star, resort-style Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) located alongside the beautiful harbor in Norfolk, Virginia. Our community consists of 300 Independent Living Residential Units, a 33-bed (Medicare / private) Skilled Nursing Healthcare Unit, a 40-bed Assisted Living Unit, and 34-bed Memory Support Unit.
We are seeking a highly qualified, full-time Life Enrichment Coordinator to join our team to deliver excellent care for our residents. The ideal candidates will have senior living experience (e.g., long-term care, assisted living, memory support) with a passion for working with an elderly population.
The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Health & Wellness in designing and implementing an activity program fostering the basic concepts of wellness and to maintain residents at their maximum potential level of functioning. The program shall maintain a balance of recreational activities that facilitates physical and mental stimulation, including socialization, education, fitness, creative and performing arts, and crafts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Execute the needs of the program outlined by the Director of Health & Wellness.
- Develop, implement, schedule, manage, and provide therapeutic recreational activities (including evening and weekend activities) for community residents.
- Complete necessary assessments required by regulations / guideline and / or policies and procedures. Maintain activity progress notes in each resident's chart as appropriate and within the documentation guidelines set forth in policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with other staff members to schedule events and use of facilities. Schedule and post all activity calendars on each unit and provide a calendar to all residents.
- Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing various resident committees as directed by supervisor.
- Perform necessary and required assessments to include (not limited to) Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments and activity assessments.
- Drive residents to and from activities offsite.
- The position falls under the direct supervision of the Director of Health & Wellness. The position is not required to supervise or direct other employees.
