Position involves responsible physical, manual and record maintenance work requiring judgment in receiving, storing, issuing and recording inventory in the operation of a company-wide materials warehouse. Clerical and data entry functions to maintain inventory transaction activities in the Microsoft Great Plains Inventory system. Requires judgment in receiving, issuing and recording various items that are purchased for various departments. Responsible for record maintenance and inventory work in the operation of a warehouse and material supplies for various departments. Oversight and insurance of the safe operation of a company-wide fuel system, assisting with state mandated fuel and transformers reporting. Reports to Purchasing, Fleet and Supply Chain Manager.

Works at the Warehouse counter issuing materials to departments using proper procedures and barcode scanners or forms.
Maintains inventory control through the use of business machines, computer and Panatrax program.
Receives equipment, materials and supplies delivered to the warehouse, counts and checks inventory against invoices and delivery tickets and signs delivery receipt, makes reports of damaged goods as well as overages and shortages.
Properly identifies and labels materials before storing in designated area. Provides for handling and storage so that damage and obsolescence are prevented. Maintains the recycling program for discarded items.
Operates a variety of material handling equipment with a high degree of efficiency including, but not limited to forklifts and overhead cranes. Loads and unloads trucks with cranes and various sizes of forklifts.
Inputs meter serial numbers for electric, water and gas into the computer system for tracking. Resolves serial number discrepancies.
Performs annual inventory counts; preforms daily inventory counts on receiving’s and cycles.
Maintains accurate state required records from cradle to grave on all transformers including an inventory asset number for tracking.
Maintains and inspects warehouse, grounds, and storage area to assure that inventory is controlled, safe, clean and presentable to customers; corrects any unsafe, unsanitary, and other undesirable conditions.
Communicates directly with contractors, department heads, and employees.
Performs other functions within the Warehouse and purchasing, as assigned.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Checks and maintains the fuel system, troubleshoots and programs fuel system computer program and fuel cards. Maintains state requirements and provides monthly fuel information for reporting purposes.
Maintains the recycling program for discarded items. Scheduling pick-ups. Recording weights, costs, and credits. Handling checks from the scrap metal recycling program.
Performs preventative maintenance checks on company and department vehicles, forklifts and equipment weekly and as needed; notes needed repairs.
Assists as back-up to the buyer for bids within AURSI/fax, completes bid analysis, initiates purchase requisitions, completes PO communication to supplier and files purchasing documents.
Contacts suppliers in regards to timing of deliveries, condition of goods received and other related matters.
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. At least six (6) years of responsible company-wide materials warehouse experience. Must have Fork Lift Certification or be able to obtain certification within three (3) months.
When considering new job applicants, a comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted in lieu of some of the minimum qualifications.
Must possess:

- Knowledge of business terms and practical mathematics as they apply to inventory management & warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of business methods commonly employed in recording warehouse transactions, making inventories, labeling and shelving items of large size and weight.
- Ability to make sound rational business decisions about the warehouse and inventory when on call outs after hours.
- Ability to communicate with internal customers and vendors in a professional manner.
- Ability to understand and follow moderately complex written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to make arithmetical computations and to prepare written reports legibly and accurately.
- Ability to operate various size forklifts or other equipment used in a warehouse.
- Ability to produce accurate and neat clerical work.
- Ability to keep a clean, orderly, safe and efficient warehouse.
- Working knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word & Excel)
- Ability to react to change productively and to handle other tasks as assigned.
Salary : $18 - $23
