Program Description:
The Amherst Public School District is pleased to share that the Title I Summer Achievement Academy will provide supplemental instructional programs at Crocker Farm in July 2025. The program is designed to support eligible Grade K-3 Title I students from Fort River and Wildwood Schools. These Title I students are identified for targeted support to build and sustain progress in foundational reading skills, writing, oral language and vocabulary skills. The program will meet on Monday-Thursday from July 7-31. The supplemental services will be for explicit, sequential foundational literacy skill development using UFLI curriculum .
Four - six teaching positions available for small classes in grades K, 1, 2, and 3.
Two reading specialist positions available for small group instruction in grades K,1, 2, and 3.
Students attend from 8:15am - 12:15pm; Educators attend from 8:00am-12:30pm
Paraeducator Requirements:
The Amherst Public School District is seeking a paraeducator for temporary, part-time employment to support K-3 students in the Title I Summer Achievement Academy Program (SAA). The paraeducator must have classroom small group instructional experience in providing foundational early literacy skills in support of students’ reading progress. Qualified paraeducators will also have instructional experience supporting phonemic awareness, phonological awareness, systematic sequential phonetic concepts, oral language, and vocabulary skills. Classroom paraeducator experience may include work with general education, Special Education or EL students. Applicants should be experienced in supporting diverse K-2 students for whom oral and written language development may be challenged by their learning profiles and/or by English language learning as a second language.
Salary: The paraeducator will be paid at their contractual hourly rate for 4.5 hours daily, which includes 30 minutes of prep time daily.

Ending Date: Thursday July 31, 2025
Description: Early literacy ELA focus on Foundational Literacy Skill Development using UFLI curriculum Students attend from 8:15am - 12:15pm, including breakfast and lunch.
Orientation Meeting for Staff: Tentatively planned for Wednesday, June 25, 2024; Attendance at this three hour Orientation and Professional Development Day is required. Compensation at the contractual hourly rate is provided for this day.
