Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will provide strong and effective leadership, direction, and professional expertise for the property. A major function of the Human Resources Generalist is to plan, interpret and administer policies relating to all phases of personnel activity, to maintain fair and equitable policy administration to insure high associate morale. Performs professional level human resources work carries out managerial responsibilities in the following areas: employee relations, benefit administration, compensation, recruiting and manages the various areas and locations as assigned. Properties include ACH, WSC, FSAI, MM, CTS and other entities as assigned.

- Required superior proficiency with HRIS/HRM, benefits, report writing, federal and state regulations regarding employment, recruiting, on boarding and selection, and the ability to protect the confidentiality of applicant and their records.
- Must have experience in conducting training, compiling needs analysis, and evaluating training programs, which includes the ROI for training.
- Must have the ability to supervise a staff, negotiates vendor contracts, consult with all levels of the organization, and act a role model of an effective trainer.
- Must independently be able to coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously and set and meet deadlines.
- Must have experience developing strategies to support, develop and engage a diverse workforce.
- Must be a hands-on professional with strong creative and conceptual skills, a proven track record working with and coaching department leadership and exhibit a strong sense of urgency in exceeding departmental and company goals and objectives.
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business while maintaining confidentiality.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to property leadership (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Responsible for developing and maintaining internal communications. Sources include, but are not limited to, email, slick text, various written communication, email, letters, and slick text, video presentation, newsletters, print, social networking outlets, Employee Self Service website, and Team Member Facebook page.
- Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation consistent with ACH policies, State and Federal statutes where applicable.
- Collects, analyzes, and looks for trends in human resources data to make suggestions relating to HR strategy- turnover, recruitment, engagement, compensation, and leadership opportunities. Provides monthly reports to the HR Director.
- Assists with design and execution of engagement, wellness, and retention events.
- Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates exceptional customer service in accordance with department and company standards and EHG program both internally and externally.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manages the hiring process, recruiting process including reviewing applications, screening, testing applicants, conducting interviews, and responding to applicant inquiries.
- Oversee the Benefits Administration including annual and day to day activities; including but not limited to; FML, HRIS, filing, 401k, voluntary and involuntary benefits administration.
- Manages turnover, job fairs and mass hiring events for Apache Casino Hotel and FSAI.
- Conducts staffing needs analysis and develops staffing plans, writes, and maintains updated job descriptions. Identify future staffing needs.
- Conduct performance reviews; makes or recommends wage increases; makes or recommends promotions.
- Conducts compensation surveys and reviews with recommendations provided to the Human Resources Director.
- Produces staffing reports (e.g. applicant flow, turnover, recruiting activity, and hiring activity).
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
- Utilizes employee and supervisor feedback surveys to strategically modify engagement planning to target high-impact areas.
- Establishes credibility with management and employees to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.
- Responsible, with the assistance of others, for the property’s employee activities, events, and parties.
- Designs, develops, and delivers training materials and programs, including but not limited to Supervisor Training Program.
- Schedules, coordinates arrangements for Casino Operations management to assist them with specific job skills training.
- All team members will follow the Eye Hi Goodbye (EHG) policy. It is the expectation that every team member, front or back of house, should proactively seek out opportunities to greet guests and their fellow team members daily.
- Team members will participate in all mandatory meetings and pre-shift sessions.
- Oversee cross-training within the Human Resources department in HRIS, benefits, recruiting, etc.

- Assist with and be able to administer all aspects of 401k, FML and all benefit programs within ACH.
- Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
- Maintain team member personnel records.
- Conduct exit interviews and ‘stay’ interviews, compile data.
- Handle unemployment compensation claims and hearings.
- Assist the Benefits Administrator with all functions of benefits, including but not limited to; FML, LOA’s, HRIS, and meeting with team members.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, psychology, business administration or related field. Minimum 5 years increasingly responsible Human Resources experience in casino, hospitality and/or other consumer-driven service business with 250 employees. Minimum three (3) years management/supervisor experience. Require superior knowledge of benefits, employee relations and application of HRIS/HRMS systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Preferred: PHR, SPHR, and 7-10 years of increasingly responsible human resources experience with 5 years of management experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.
While performing job duties the team member may be regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member may occasionally be required to stand/stand for prolonged periods, walk, climb, or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member may occasionally lift to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
The team member may be exposed to various foods and chemicals as well as latex. While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.
At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test and obtain a gaming license. Following hire the team member may be required to obtain a local food handler permit and an Oklahoma ABLE license.
