Description

Summary

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Specialist is responsible for a variety of human resources activities with emphasis in the areas of team member relations and engagement.  The Human Resources Specialist will assist with recruitment and other HR projects as needed.  The Human Resources Specialist will ensure the organization follows all applicable federal, state, and local employment related laws.  The Human Resources Specialist is expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of performance.  The HR Specialist will support the Vision, Mission, and Values of ACH.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and at least 2-years combined Human Resources experience; or an equivalent combination of training, education, and progressively responsible Human Resources experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Two years of recruiting experience with a company of comparable size.  Prefer gaming, hospitality, or similar industry.
  • Advanced computer skills including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient with resource information database system (HRIS/HRMS), and the ability to quickly learn ACH HRIS system.
  • Proficient HRIS report writing & ability to quickly learn ACH HRIS report writing.
  • Excellent Excel Skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Must be able to work weekends and evenings when needed.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License.

Essential Functions

  • Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel, and always live the mission of providing exceptional service.
  • Work closely with HR team members to ensure a high level of accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Input transactional recruiting, onboarding, job changes and termination data into the human resources information system, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
  • Coordinate job listings and conduct onboarding activities for new hires; assist with exit interviews with departing team members.
  • Identify suitable candidates through application screening for minimum qualifications and conduct pre-screening interviews.
  • Conduct orientation.
  • Assist in maintaining personnel files.
  • Provide various reporting data and analytics to the HR Director.
  • Understand and comply with casino and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by reporting senior.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Assist with Job Fairs on and off property.
  • Coordinate, &/or assist with all team member parties, team member and HR functions on and off the property.
  • Track performance reviews.
  • Conduct Interview Training.
  • All other duties as may be assigned by Supervisor.

  • Ability to operate various types of equipment used in your department, for example personal computers, printers, copy machines, facsimile machines, and telephone.
  • PHR preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential job functions.

While performing job duties the team member may be regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The team member may occasionally be required to stand for prolonged periods, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The team member may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The team member may be exposed to various foods and chemicals as well as latex. While performing job duties the team member is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The team member is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate, and there are fluctuations in lighting due to flashing lights from slot machines and band lighting.

At a minimum, the selected candidate will be required to pass a background check and drug-screening test and obtain a gaming license.  Following hire the team member may be required to obtain a local food handler permit and an Oklahoma ABLE license.
