The Multi-Site Retail Operation Director (MSROD) primary responsibilities are ensuring organizational effectiveness, employee development, vendor relations, inventory management, margin control, accurate financial reporting, and superior customer service at all retail outlets. The MSROD, through engagement and development of store management, shall drive sales and profitability, and maintain effective expense and payroll budget management. Effective inventory management and merchandising practices shall be developed, and always adhered to, to ensure waste, theft, and/or other inventory loss is recognized and corrected immediately. Through utilization of Policy and Procedure manual, the MSROD will ensure compliance in inventory control, asset protection, and merchandising operations. The MSROD is responsible for all retail operations as assigned by Fort Sill Apache Tribe.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises managers in all retail locations. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training managers; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining managers; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Directly supervise first line managers in multiple locations.
- Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all locations.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies, procedures, and applicable Tribal, State, and Federal laws.
Essential Job Functions

- Responsible for all aspects of store operations, including marketing compliance, inventory management, audits, environmental compliance, employee management, etc.
- Responsible for assessing weekly store performance reports and identifying any deviation of data and develop action plans. Data includes inside sales, category sales, fuel gallons, cents per gallon, cash audits, and store audits.
- Responsible for ensuring store audits are completed within organizational guidelines, including cash audits, SCO audits, lottery audits, ATM audits, and tobacco audits.
- Investigate inventory and cash shrink. Take preventative and corrective actions to prevent losses caused by employee, customer, or vendor theft and accounting errors.
- Conduct weekly operations meetings with store managers.
- Assist store managers with employee discipline, development, store meetings, etc. as needed.
- Motivate and drive initiatives in the operations team and organizationally that contribute to strategic goals and long-term operational excellence.
- Treat guests with respect and courtesy while providing them with quick, friendly service and ensuring Eye Hi Goodbye Guest Service program is being adhered to.
- Measure and analyze business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize customer engagement, maximize sales, meet or exceed organizational goals and objectives, and recommends and initiates changes.
- Through collaboration with store management, the MSROD is responsible to ensure appropriate merchandising stock levels, presentation, and signage.
- Aware of all competition activities and report results; shares information with store managers to make appropriate price adjustment recommendations.
- In coordination with Finance Department, oversees and assists with monthly inventory counts and ensures inventory is accurately represented.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a best in class, highly collaborative team, that operates with clear objectives and strategies to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Conduct performance evaluations and ensure employee reviews are conducted timely.
- Provides accurate and timely financial information to Finance Department.
- Along with Fort Sill EDA Executive Director, meets with prospective vendors and makes recommendations to Management as to the variety of merchandise stocked and displayed.
- Enforce adherence and compliance to policies and procedures, government regulations, food safety guidelines, restricted product sales policies, and store presentation standards.
- Develop partnerships and effectively communicate with vendors.
- Maintain a professional and supportive demeanor when dealing with subordinates and supervisors. Conduct should always reflect the Tribes image standards.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment through enforcement of safety and security practices.

Education and/or Experience:
- Associate degree (AA/AS) in business, accounting, finance, or related field required.
- Bachelor (BA/BS) Degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- 4-6 Years operations and management experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience upon EDA Executive Directors approval.
- Demonstrated experience with progressive management responsibilities.
- Must possess excellent communication (written/verbal) and organizational skills.
Special Qualifications
- Valid drivers license and ability to be insured by Fort Sill Apache Tribe insurance carrier.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain Fort Sill Apache Gaming License.
Language Skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly desired
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, team members, vendors, and Fort Sill leadership.
Mathematical Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of basic accounting fundamentals. Profit & Loss Statements, Cash Flow Projections, and Balance Sheets.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, and percentages.
