TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: A full contract for this position is 217 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on the actual start date.

Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of school administration; comprehensive knowledge of the school district’s strategic plan; comprehensive knowledge of the school district’s procedures and organization; comprehensive knowledge of school personnel and human capital management; ability to conceptualize, initiate, monitor and assess new and/or current school-based programs; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community stakeholders, administrators, teachers, and staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Instructional leader of the building and assumes responsibility for all aspects of the school.
- Emphasizes student achievement as the primary goal and strives to meet the desired student achievement results or performance indicators.
- Maintains high expectations and motivation for all students and staff to engage in continuous learning and development.
- Establishes and clearly communicates building priorities, short and long goals, and objectives.
- Knows and applies policies, procedures, laws and regulations enacted by district, state, and federal authorities.
- Communicates and demonstrates interpersonal skills with students, faculty, staff, and community members to maintain a collaborative culture of excellence.
- Assists teachers and administrators in interpreting assessment and evaluation information in making programmatic and instructional decisions.
- Manages and supports technology-based assessment systems.
- Enforces guidelines to maintain proper discipline and conduct.
- Communicates relevant policies and procedures with regard to student discipline, conduct, and attendance to students, staff, and parents.
- Collaborates with other District personnel in developing and implementing quality educational programs.
- Works with and assists faculty in the development of effective classroom discipline and organization.
- Develops procedures designed to enhance the safety of students and staff and to promote the security of property and equipment.
- Maintains an effective and safe school environment.
- Ability to implement emergency evacuations and lock-downs effectively.
- Prepares required reports and paperwork such as discipline reports, suspension reports, expulsion paperwork, discrimination complaints, injury reports, parent communications, and other paperwork as assigned.
- Preparation of appropriate handbooks.
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the building.
- Designs and implements new programs, based on current research based practices, to meet the specific needs of the school and its students.
- Supervises and evaluates certified and classified personnel.
- Works as a team member to meet the system-wide needs of the district.
- Assists in supervision of special events.
- Holds the responsibility for the welfare of all students during school hours.
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of the buildings and grounds in cooperation with the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
- Directs, supervises and evaluates the curricular program of the school.
- Recommend staffing assignments.
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of the buildings and grounds in cooperation with the Facility Operations department.
- Ensure all certified and classified staff are in compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations.
- Maintains prompt and regular attendance and demonstrates the ability to maintain positive professional working relationships with others.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must have the ability to lift at least 40 pounds occasionally.
