About the Role:
The Resident Director plays a critical role in supporting the academic success and personal growth of residential students. This position requires a strong understanding of student development theory and best practices in student housing. The Resident Director will work closely with the Housing and Residential Life team to create a positive and inclusive living environment, providing programs and services that promote student engagement and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Cultivate a positive and engaging living environment that fosters a sense of community among residents. Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote student development and engagement. Supervise and evaluate staff members, providing regular feedback and coaching. Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement policies and procedures related to student conduct and crisis management.
Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience planning events/programs, preferably in educational settings. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite platforms. Ability to work with diverse populations and supervise staff. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to assume shared responsibility for residence hall systemwide on-call duty and respond to crises and emergencies.
